How we work

  • Fixed fees. Every defined piece of work quoted upfront. No six-minute billing units.
  • Senior lawyers only. The person who scopes your matter is the person doing the work.
  • Plain English. Contracts and advice written to be read by business owners, not just other lawyers.
  • CBD-ready. Video calls, secure e-signing, and in-person meetings in the CBD on request.

Frequently asked questions

Where in the Sydney CBD do you act?

We act for businesses headquartered or operating across the Sydney CBD — from Barangaroo, Wynyard and Martin Place through to Circular Quay, the legal precinct around Phillip and Elizabeth Streets, and the tech and media hubs around Surry Hills, Pyrmont and Ultimo. Most matters are handled by video call and email; in-person meetings on request.

How much do CBD commercial lawyers cost?

Envision Legal quotes fixed fees for every defined piece of work. A standard commercial contract review is typically $800–$2,000 + GST; a shareholders' agreement is $3,500–$6,500 + GST; monthly fractional general counsel retainers start from $2,500 + GST. We don't bill in six-minute increments the way traditional CBD firms do.

Do you act on the same work as top-tier CBD firms?

For most of it, yes — contracts, M&A, capital raising, shareholder disputes, IP, AFSL, employment. What we don't do is charge top-tier rates or run a partner-to-junior leverage model. For very large, multi-jurisdictional deals or complex litigation, a top-tier firm may still be the right fit and we're happy to say so.

Do you handle commercial litigation in the Sydney courts?

Yes — breach of contract, misleading and deceptive conduct, unfair contract terms, shareholder oppression and restraint enforcement in the NSW Supreme Court and Federal Court. For court hearings we brief specialist barristers from the Sydney bar.
