For professional advisers

Referral partners

Commercial and transactional work, quoted as a fixed fee before it starts. Senior lawyers only, response within one business day — and your client stays yours.

In short

Envision Legal takes commercial and transactional referrals from accountants, CFOs, business brokers, corporate finance advisers and other professionals. Every scope is quoted as a fixed fee before work starts, a senior lawyer does the work, and enquiries get a response within one business day. We pay no commissions — and we do not go after your client relationship.

When you introduce a client to a lawyer, you are lending them your credibility. The two things that damage it are an open-ended hourly bill and a firm that starts selling your client everything else. We are built so neither happens.

What a referral to us looks like

  1. Introduce by email. One line to hello@envisionlegal.com.au with the client and the issue is enough.
  2. Response within one business day. Your client hears from a senior lawyer, not an intake queue.
  3. Scope call, then a fixed fee in writing. Your client knows the price before they commit.
  4. You stay informed. With the client's consent we copy you on the scope and update you at engagement, drafts and completion.

Work we take

  • Shareholder, founder and partnership agreements — see shareholders' agreements.
  • Business sales and acquisitions — share and asset sales, due diligence, earn-outs, restraints. See sales and acquisitions.
  • Commercial contracts and MSAs — services, supply, distribution, licensing, SaaS. See business contracts.
  • Employment — contracts, restraints, redundancies, contractor classification.
  • Commercial and retail leases — see commercial leases.
  • Trade marks and IP — filings, brand protection, assignment and licensing. See trade marks.
  • Regulatory and compliance — AFSL, AML/CTF, privacy, CPS 230. See advice and compliance.
  • Ongoing counsel — a monthly retainer for clients with steady legal flow. See fractional general counsel.

Work we do not take

So you never waste a referral: we do not act in conveyancing, family law, criminal, personal injury, or wills and estates matters. If something lands outside our scope we say so immediately and, where we can, point you to someone who does that work properly.

Your client stays yours

We are engaged for the referred legal scope and nothing else. We do not cross-sell accounting, finance, broking or advisory services, and we do not approach your client about work beyond the matter. If a new legal issue surfaces, you hear about it too.

Fee arrangements — stated plainly

We do not pay referral fees, commissions or fee-sharing of any kind, and we do not ask for them. Referrals run on professional judgement: you refer because the work is done properly, priced transparently and returned on time. That keeps the arrangement clean for both of us and consistent with our professional obligations.

Who we work with

  • Accountants and CFOs advising established businesses
  • Business brokers and M&A advisers
  • Corporate and commercial finance advisers
  • Financial advisers and other trusted professional advisers
  • Law firms without a commercial or transactional practice
  • Insurance brokers and compliance consultants — see insurance brokers

Why fixed fees matter to a referrer

The most common reason a referral to a lawyer goes cold is that the client cannot see what it will cost. Every scope we can define is quoted up front — see fixed-fee legal services — so the client makes a decision on a number, not on a fear.

Frequently asked questions

Do you pay referral fees or commissions?

No. We do not offer commissions or fee-sharing arrangements. Referrals are accepted on a professional basis — you refer because the work gets done properly and your client comes back to you happy.

Will you try to take over the client relationship?

No. We are engaged for the legal scope you refer and nothing else. We do not cross-sell accounting, finance, broking or advisory services, and we do not approach your client about work outside the referred matter.

How quickly will my client hear from you?

Within one business day of the introduction. A scope call is usually held within two business days, and the client receives a written fixed-fee scope after that call.

Will I be kept informed?

Yes, where the client consents. We copy you on the scope and let you know at each milestone — engagement, drafts out, and completion — so you are never caught unaware when your client mentions the matter.

What kind of work should I refer?

Commercial and transactional matters: shareholder and founder agreements, business sales and acquisitions, commercial contracts and MSAs, employment documents and restraints, commercial and retail leases, trade marks and IP, AFSL, AML/CTF and privacy compliance, and ongoing counsel on a fractional GC retainer.

What should I not refer?

We do not act in conveyancing, family law, criminal, personal injury, or wills and estates matters. If a referral lands outside our scope we will tell you straight away rather than hold onto it.

How are fees quoted to my client?

A fixed fee, in writing, before any work begins. Your client knows the price before they commit, which removes the main reason referrals to lawyers go cold.

Do you act for businesses outside Sydney and Melbourne?

Yes. We have bases in Sydney and Melbourne and act for businesses Australia-wide. Most commercial law is federal, so location rarely affects the work.
