Why We Do It This Way
The six-minute unit made sense when law firms competed on prestige and clients paid whatever the invoice said. It does not make sense for founders and CFOs who need to plan spend. Fixed and subscription pricing forces the firm to be efficient — which is the point. If a matter takes us longer than we scoped, that is our problem, not yours.
What Does Not Fit Fixed Fee
Litigation past the pre-action stage, and genuinely novel M&A work, are hard to fix-fee because the counterparty controls the timetable. We price these transparently at capped day rates and update you before we blow through the cap.
